Produced whilst working at Ryder Architects.
Construction work at Matthew Moss High School was completed in April 2012. Building Schools for the Future investment has enabled extensive remodelling of the existing school buildings together with the creation of a central hub space which accommodates various school facilities such as the Learning Resource Centre, dining facilities and the main hall.
The new heart of the school now connects the buildings, improving circulation and way finding, creating a more coherent form. There are dedicated facilities for 16 hearing impaired pupils with Soundfield systems strategically installed throughout the school to support these students and appropriate materials and finishes have been chosen to control noise levels, enabling full pupil participation.
